Dear Sir or Madam:
The PWROG Licensing Subcommittee and BWROG Licensing Committee are sponsoring a joint Owners Group workshop to discuss adoption and implementation of TSTF-493, "Clarify Application of Setpoint Methodology for LSSS Functions." The workshop will be held December 6 and the morning of December 7, 2010 at the Marco Island Marriott, Marco Island, Florida.
We invite the NRC to present and participate in the meeting with the goal of promoting a common understanding between the NRC and the industry of the requirements in TSTF-493 and the information needed by the NRC staff when reviewing licensee applications to adopt TSTF-493. Our goal is to improve regulatory stability by promoting consistency in the interpretation of these requirements, both in the development of the license amendment requests, as well as the implementation by the licensees upon NRC approval.
A draft agenda is attached. Based on earlier discussions with the NRC, the TSTF would like an NRC representative or representatives to consider making presentations on the following subjects:
- NRC Perspective on TSTF-493 Option A Adoption
- NRC Perspective on TSTF-493 Option B Adoption
- NRC Feedback on Case Studies and NRC Lessons Learned In addition to these presentations, the NRC staff participation in discussion of the other presentations will be invaluable in promoting common understanding.
Please let us know if you will be able to participate and, if so, who will attend. Please contact Brian Mann at (301)984-4400.
