In Reference 1, the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) issued the request for information associated with Near-Term Task Force (NTTF) Recommendation 2.1 for Flooding. In Reference 2, the NRC staff issued guidance for assessing flooding hazards due to dam failure. In Reference 3, Energy Northwest requested that the NRC interface with the U. S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), such that the USACE would perform a dam failure analysis for the Columbia River watershed.

UPDATED DAM SCREENING ANALYSIS IN SUPPORT OF ENERGY NORTHWEST'S REQUEST FOR THE US ARMY CORPS OF ENGINEERS (USACE)
In Reference 1, the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) issued the request for information associated with Near-Term Task Force (NTTF) Recommendation 2.1 for Flooding.
DAM FAILURE ANALYSIS SUPPORT Page 2 of 2 In a telephone call on Wednesday, November 13, 2013, Energy Northwest stated that it would identify, no later than Friday, November 15, 2013, the specific dams for which it was requesting the USACE to perform dam failure analyses. In a November 15, 2013, email, Energy Northwest stated that it was performing screening level analyses, in accordance with JLD-ISG-2013-01 (Reference 2), for the upstream dams addressed in Columbia's Final Safety Analysis Report (FSAR) Table 2.4-1, Major Columbia River Basin Dams, and certain upstream dams which are not addressed in the FSAR table.
In Reference 2, the NRC staff issued guidance for assessing flooding hazards due to dam failure. In Reference 3, Energy Northwest requested that the NRC interface with the U. S.
