Illinois Power Company. reported'a 10CFR21 defect j concerning damaged High Pressure Core Spray (Division'III). 1 Diesel Generator Exciter LeadsLby. Illinois Power. Company-Letter U-601030 dated 9/8/87. The letter indicates that-l the exciter leads'will be replaced-during the Fall i l Maintenance Outage planned for October-1987. Due to. i schedule constraints,- the exciter leads' will not Int replaced during the Fall Maintenance-Outage. .The .

replacement has been rescheduled and will occur;during the-j month of December 1987. Nuclear Station' Engineering' l Department has evaluated the? temporary repair on the l exciter leads that was completed on August.13, 1987, under l

Temporary Modification 87-130 and has' determined that the.

temporary repair is adequate for continued ~ operation 1of the diesel generator until the exciter leads are replaced i during the month of December 1987.
