Potential 10CFR Part 21 Defect at Clinton Power Station: TEC Model 914-1 Flow Monitor Modules'- Failure of Indicator to Reset (21-85-11)

Dear Mr. Keppler:

In Illinois Power Company's letter to Mr. Frank Jablonski, NRC Region III, (Ref. U-10024, 1606-L, dated January 17, 1983), Illinois Power agreed to_ notify Region III of those 10CFR Part 21 defects that affect Clinton Power Station and that were previously reported to the Commission by vendors or contractors. In accordance with that agree-ment, the following information is submitted:

2 On July 19, 1985, the Technology for Energy-Corporation (TEC) notified Illinois Power Company of a potential 10CFR defect affecting Clinton Power Station. This defect was identified as quality deviation in a component of TEC Model 914-1 Flow monitor modules.which could result in failure of the indicator to reset upon removal of the input signal.

Illinois Power is evaluating this condition at the-Clinton Power Station and will assure that adequate corrective action is taken.
