which received the tracking number FOIA-2025-000509. The FOIA office conducted this search with a cutoff date of June 3, 2025. This new request, submitted on July 10, 2025, seeks documents from April 24, 2025, until the date of the new search. This new date range should capture documents that were produced on or after June 3, 2025, including but not limited to the documents specified in part 2 and 4 of this request. We are attaching the NRCs initial production that cites the existence of the documents specified in part 2 and 4 of this request for the offices convenience.
July 21, 2025 Week Ending: July 11, 2025 ENCLOSURE C Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation Items of Interest The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) Issued Perry Nuclear Power Station, Unit 1 (Perry), Renewed Operating License On July 7, 2025, the staff issued the renewed operating license for Perry Nuclear Power Plant, Unit 1 (Perry), authorizing operation for an additional 20 years beyond the current license expiration date. The new expiration date is November 7, 2046. The issuance of the Perry renewed license brings the total number of initial renewals to 97 reactor units.
NRC Issued a Letter to Oklo Informing Them of the Results of a Limited Scope Readiness Assessment for Phase 1 of its Forthcoming Combined License Application (COLA) for the Aurora Powerhouse Advanced Reactor On July 7, 2025, the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) issued a letter (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS) Accession No. ML25178A078, date to be released is July 17, 2025) to Oklo informing them of the results of a limited scope readiness assessment for phase 1 of its forthcoming combined license application (COLA) for the Aurora powerhouse advanced reactor.Phase 1 will include the environmental report; Final Safety Analysis Report (FSAR) information supporting 10 CFR 52.79(a)(1); company information and financial requirements. Oklo informally stated that it plans to submit phase 1 of the COLA in fall 2025. A separate readiness assessment will be performed for phase 2 of the COLA; a timeframe for that review has not yet been established.
NRC Accepted Tennessee Valley Authoritys Construction Permit (CP) Application to Construct a BWRX-300 Reactor at the Clinch River Nuclear Site in Oak Ridge, Tennessee On July 9, 2025, NRC staff formally accepted Tennessee Valley Authoritys construction permit (CP) application to construct a BWRX-300 reactor at the Clinch River Nuclear Site in Oak Ridge, Tennessee (Roane County) (ML25182A151). Staff plans to issue a detailed schedule and resources letter by the end of July. Notice of the application acceptance for docketing and the opportunity for hearing on the application will be published in the Federal Register the week of July 14.

July 21, 2025 Week Ending: July 11, 2025 ENCLOSURE D Office of Nuclear Material Safety and Safeguards Items of Interest U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission Staff Held Meeting of the Task Force on Radiation Source Protection and Security On July 7, 2025, a virtual Task Force on Radiation Source Protection and Security (Task Force) meeting was held. Participants included experts from 14 Federal agencies and the Organization of Agreement States. The meeting was chaired by the Office of Nuclear Material Safety and Safeguards Deputy Office Director. Task Force subgroups provided their recommendations for the 2026 Radiation Source Protection and Security Task Force Report. The next step is to develop the first draft of the 2026 Task Force report.
