2. NextEra Energy Seabrook, LLC, Exemption Request to Support Updated Final Response to NRC Generic Letter 2004-02 , August 30 , 2018 (ADAMS Accession No. ML18243A043)

In Reference 1, NextEra Energy Seabrook, LLC (NextEra) submitted on behalf of Seabrook Station (Seabrook) an updated final response to NRC Generic Letter 2004-02 , "Potential Impact of Debris Blockage on Emergency Recirculation During Design Basis Accidents at Pressurized-Water Reactors". In Reference 2, NextEra requested on behalf of Seabrook a limited exemption from the single failure criterion of 10 CFR 50, Appendix K, Section (l)(D)(1) in support of Reference 1.

Subsequent to the exemption request submittal, NextEra conducted additional testing and analyses relating to containment sump performance at Seabrook which renders this exemption from the single-failure criterion unnecessary. Therefore, NextEra hereby withdraws the exemption request of Reference 2. A supplement to Reference 1 reflecting the additional testing and analyses is being prepared for submittal in Spring 2021.

Should you have any questions regarding this submission, please contact Mr. Ken Browne, Safety Assurance and Learning Site Director, at 603-773-7932 .

Sincerely,

  1. 'YYI~
