Bauer (Exelon Generation Company, LLC) to NRC, "Application for Technical Specification Improvement Regarding Steam Generator Tube Integrity," dated November 18, 2005 (ADAMS accession number MI-053320303)

The purpose of this letter is to provide the Exelon Generation Company, LLC (EGC) and AmerGen Energy Company, LLC (AmerGen) 30-day response to Reference 1 . The NRC issued Generic Letter 2006-01 (GL) requesting that addressees either confirm that a license amendment request to modify the steam generator sections of a station's Technical Specifications, consistent with NRC-approved Revision 4 of Technical Specification Task Force (TSTF) Standard Technical Specification Change Traveler, TSTF-449, "Steam Generator Tube Integrity," has been submitted, or provide the plans and schedule for submitting such a request.

Nuclear Regulatory Commission Page 2 February 16, 2006 In accordance with the Requested Information, Option 1, of the GL, EGC is confirming that a license amendment request to modify the steam generator sections of the Byron Station Technical Specifications and Braidwood Station Technical Specifications, consistent with TSTF-449, Revision 4, has been submitted to the NRC in Reference 2.

Also, in accordance with Requested Information, Option 1, of the GL, AmerGen is committing to submit a license amendment request to modify the steam generator sections of the TMI Unit 1 Technical Specifications, consistent with TSTF-449, Revision 4, by May 31, 2006 . If AmerGen revises this commitment such that the required license amendment request would not be submitted by May 31, 2006, AmerGen will provide a description of the actions being taken or that will be taken to ensure tube integrity is being maintained (i .e., a detailed description of the TMI Unit 1 tube integrity program) within 60 days of changing this commitment as required by GL Requested Information, Options 1 and 2.
