RESPONSE TO COMMISSION ORDER TO MODIFY LICENSE FOR INTERIM SAFEGUARDS AND SECURITY MEASURES In accordance with 10 CFR 50.4, Exelon Generation Company, LLC ("Exelon"), on behalf of itself, and, as appropriate, AmerGen Energy Company, LLC ("AmerGen"), hereby submits its response to the Order for Interim Safeguards and Security Compensatory Measures

("Order") issued by the United States Nuclear Regulatory Commission ("NRC") on February 25, 2002. Enclosures A through J of this response contain Safeguards Information that must be protected from public disclosure pursuant to 10 CFR 73.21, "Requirements for the Protection of Safeguards Information." Exelon therefore requests that the Enclosures be withheld from public disclosure.

Pursuant to the requirements of 10 CFR 2.202(a)(2), the Answer to the Order is being transmitted to the NRC under separate cover. In most respects the Answer consents to the Order.

With respect to certain interim compensatory measures in Attachment 2 of the Order that are identified in the enclosures, Exelon is requesting an extension of time in which to request a hearing. This request is being made via a separate letter to the Director, Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation.

The response and analyses conducted to assure compliance with various provisions of the Interim Compensatory Measures are based upon the current licensing basis of the respective facility.
