Diane Screnci, 610-337-5330 Neil Sheehan, 610-337-5331 NRC Names New Senior Resident Inspector at Nine Mile Point Nuclear Plant The Nuclear Regulatory Commission has selected Eric Miller as the new senior resident inspector at the Nine Mile Point nuclear plant in Scriba, N.Y. The two-unit site is operated by Exelon.

Miller most recently was a resident inspector at Nine Mile Point. He began his federal career in 2008 in the NRCs Nuclear Safety Professional Development Program. He then worked at NRC headquarters in the Office of New Reactors performing design certification and combined construction and operating license reviews. He then joined the Region I staff as a reactor inspector in 2011. Miller earned bachelors degrees in mechanical and nuclear engineering from The Pennsylvania State University.

Eric Miller has the experience and training to lead the inspection team at Nine Mile Point to ensure Nine Mile Point continues to operate safely, said NRC Region I Administrator Dan Dorman.

Miller joins resident inspector Greg Stock at Nine Mile Point. Each U.S. commercial nuclear power plant site has at least two NRC resident inspectors. They serve as the agency's eyes and ears at the facility, conducting regular inspections, monitoring significant work projects, and interacting with plant workers and the public. Inspectors can serve for up to seven years at any one site.
