No: I-14-030 June 26, 2014 CONTACT: Diane Screnci 610-337-5330 Neil Sheehan 610-337-5331 NRC Assigns New Resident Inspector To Nine Mile Point Nuclear Plant Nuclear Regulatory Commission officials in King of Prussia, Pa., have selected Gregory F. Stock as the new Resident Inspector at the Nine Mile Point Nuclear Station. He joins Senior Resident Inspector Ken Kolaczyk and Resident Inspector Eric Miller at the two-unit site in Scriba, N.Y. Nine Mile Point is operated by Exelon Generation, LLC.

Stock joined the NRC last fall and has been working as a reactor engineer in the Region I office. Prior to joining the NRC, Stock worked at the Norfolk Naval Shipyard, specializing in propulsion machinery. He earned a bachelors degree in mechanical engineering from Penn State University.

Greg Stock has the training, experience and commitment to safety that will help the NRC carry out its mission of protecting people and the environment, and he will help ensure the safe operations of the Nine Mile Point units, said NRC Region I Administrator Bill Dean.

Each U.S. commercial nuclear plant site has at least two NRC Resident Inspectors. They serve as the agencys eyes and ears at the facility, conducting inspections, monitoring major work projects and interacting with plant workers and the public.
