Amendment 3 to RESAR-SP/90 PDA Module 2, " Regulatory Conformance," contains cur current SP/90 position on the regulatory requirements as they relate to implementation of the Severe Accident Policy. Post-TMI requirements, high and i ~'

medium priority Generic Safety Issues (GSIs), Unresolved Safety Issues (USIs) l and New generic issues have been reviewed, and the manner in which the SP/90 i design addresses these issues is provided. This amendment also supersedes the positions given in Reference 1 in which only unresolved USIs, GSIs and New generic safety issues were addressed as they existed up to the May 1988 goo l submittal. ch c.r crye _ g ,j WP

Miller October 3, 1989 NS-NRC-89-3461 Additionally, our responses (Reference 2) to Staff questions 260.1 -260.33 submitted in Reference 3, regarding the Westinghouse Quality Assurance Program relative to RESAR-SP/90, are included here for insertion in the Question / Answer section of Module 2. That submittal also closed out Open Issue Seven (7) of the Staff's June 10, 1988 Draft Safety Evaluation Report (DSER) on the RESAR-SP/90 PDA.

This submittal contains proprietary information of Westinghouse Electric Corporation. In conformance with the requirements of 10CFR Section 2.790, as amended, of the Commission's regulations, we are enclosing with this submittal an application for withholding from public disclosure and an affidavit. The affidavit sets forth the basis on which the information may be withheld from public disclosure by the commission.
