Subject:

Submittal of Westinghouse Response to "Outstanding" Staff (PSB)

Questions 430.3 through 430.7, 430.10, 430.12 and 430.13 in Review of the WAPWR RESAR-SP/90 PDA

Reference:

T. J. Kenyon (NRC) letter to W. J. Johnson (Westinghouse), dated December 17, 1987

Dear Mr. Rubenstein:

Enclosed are:

1. Forty-one (41) copies of Addendum 9 to MAPWR RESAR-SP/90 PDA; Westinghouse Response to NRC "Outsta.nding" PSB Questions listed above (Proprietary).

Also enclosed is:

1. One (1) copy of Application for Withholding, AW-88-058 (Non-Proprietary).

The enclosed information is submitted to complete the Westinghouse response to Staff questions received in the referer.ce letter. Westinghouse transmittal NS-NRC-88-3341, dated May 13, 1988, provided our response to the major portion of Staff questions submitted in the reference. This completes our response to Staff questions 430.1 - 430.22. Because the sets of questions now being received apply to several modules, Westinghouse will submit only a Westinghouse Proprietary Class 2 version until such time that all NRC questions are resolved. At that time we will resubmit all questions and responses in amendment (s) to specific modules, along with a non-proprietary Class 3 version and the proper affidavit.

This submittal contains Westinghouse proprietary information of trade secrets, commercial, or financial information which we consider privileged or confidential pursuant to 10CFR9.5(4). Therefore, it is requested that the Westinghouse proprietary information attachid hereto be handled on a confidential basis and be withheld from public disc.losure. _
