U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission ND-18-0336 Enclosure Page 2 of 3 ITAAC Statement Design Commitment:

3.d) The ancillary diesel generator fuel tank is sized to supply power to long-term safety-related post accident monitoring loads and control room lighting through a regulating transformer and one PCS recirculation pump for four days.

Inspections. Tests. Analyses:

Inspection of the ancillary diesel generator fuel tank will be performed.

Acceptance Criteria:

The volume of the ancillary diesel generator fuel tank is greater than or equal to 650 gallons.

ITAAC Determination Basis An inspection was performed to demonstrate the Unit 3 and Unit 4 Standby Diesel Fuel Oil System (DOS) Ancillary Diesel Generator Fuel Tanks (SV3-DOS-MT-03 and SV4-DOS-MT-03, respectively) are sized to supply power to long-term safety-related post accident monitoring loads and control room lighting through a regulating transformer and one Passive Containment Cooling System (PCS) recirculation pump for four days.

An inspection was performed by the vendor to verify that each Ancillary Diesel Generator Fuel Tank is sized to supply power for 4 days as described in Subsection 9.5.4.2.2.4 of the VEGP 3&4 Updated Final Safety Analysis Report (UFSAR) (Reference 1). As-built measurements of the individual tank components (i.e., the rectangular tanks' internal length, width and height) were taken and recorded to calculate the total internal and useable tank volumes. The useable volume was determined bysubtracting the volume below the oil supply nozzle and above the freeboard from the total volume. The calculated total and useable volumes were compared and verified to meet the required capacity requirements as described in Table 9.5.4-1 of the UFSAR (Reference 1). Areceipt dimensional inspection was performed to validate as-built vendor measurements for Unit 3 and 4 Ancillary Diesel Generator Fuel Tanks (References 6 and 7, respectively).

The Unit 3 and Unit 4 reports (References 2 and 3, respectively) document the Unit 3 tank (SV3-DOS-MT-03) has a total volume of 698 gallons and the Unit 4 tank (SV4-DOS-MT-03) has a total volume of 696 gallons, which meets the ITAAC acceptance criteria of greaterthan or equal to 650 gallons.

ITAAC Finding Review In accordance with plant procedures for ITAAC completion. Southern Nuclear Operating Company (SNC) performed a review of all ITAAC findings pertaining tothe subject ITAAC and associated corrective actions. This review, which found no relevant ITAAC findings associated with this ITAAC, is documented in the Vogtle Unit 3 and Unit 4 ITAAC 2.3.03.03d Completion Package (References 4 and 5, respectively) and available for NRC inspection.

U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission ND-18-0336 Enclosure Page 3 of 3 ITAAC ComDietion Statement Based on the above information, SNC hereby notifies the NRG that ITAAC 2.3.03.03d was performed for VEGP Unit 3 and Unit 4 that the prescribed acceptance criteria are met.

Systems, structures, and components verified as part of this ITAAC are being maintained in their as-designed, ITAAC compliantcondition in accordance with approved plant programs and procedures.
