January 6, 2022 (ML22006A074), and January 6, 2022 (ML22006A046), NextEra Energy Point Beach, LLC (NextEra) submitted an application for subsequent renewal of Renewed Facility Operating License Nos. DPR-24 and DPR-27 for Point Beach Nuclear Plant, Units 1 and 2 (Point Beach), respectively, to the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC). NextEra submitted this subsequent license renewal application (SLRA) pursuant to Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations (10 CFR) Part 54, Requirements for Renewal of Operating Licenses for Nuclear Power Plants.

letter dated January 15, 2021 (ML21006A417), the NRC staff stated that the SLRA was acceptable for docketing and that the staff would proceed with its detailed safety and environmental reviews of the SLRA. The staff documented its safety review in a safety evaluation (SE), which it provided to NextEra by \
letter dated February 23, 2022 (ML22054A106), as revised in \
letter dated May 25, 2022 (ML22139A228). The SE reflected the status of the staffs safety review of the SLRA through January 6, 2022.
By letters dated December 13, 2023 (ML23347A094), November 25, 2024 (ML24330A102), and April 1, 2025 (ML25091A077), NextEra submitted its third annual update, fourth annual update, and Revision 1 of its fourth annual update, respectively. NextEra provided these updates in accordance with 10 CFR 54.21(b), which requires that each year following submittal of an SLRA and at least 3 months before scheduled completion of the NRC review, an update to the SLRA must be submitted that identifies any change to the current licensing basis of the facility that materially affects the content of the SLRA, including the Updated Final Safety Analysis Report August 27, 2025
R. Coffey supplement. Based on its review of these annual updates, the NRC staff identified the need for information to be added to or revised in the SE. Accordingly, Enclosure 1 to this letter provides revisions to the SE based on the annual updates, and Enclosure 2 to this letter provides revisions to the Appendix A commitments in the SE to be consistent with the commitments provided by NextEra in the SLRA.
