RAI-10527-R1-FINAL.docx
Good Morning,
On April 10, 2025, the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff issued draft Requests for Additional Information (RAIs) to Duke Energy Carolinas, LLC, and Duke Energy Progress, LLC (Duke, the licensee). The RAIs are related to Dukes proposed alternative request, submitted on November 15, 2024 (ML24320A015), for Catawba Nuclear Station, Units 1 and 2 (Catawba), McGuire Nuclear Station, Units 1 and 2 (McGuire), Brunswick Steam Generating Plant, Units 1 and 2 (Brunswick), Shearon Harris Nuclear Power Plant, Unit 1 (Harris), and H.B. Robinson Steam Electric Plant, Unit 2 (Robinson).
Duke informed the NRC staff that the information requested was understood and that no clarification call to discuss the RAIs was necessary. A publicly available version of the FINAL RAIs (identified in the attachment) will be placed in the NRCs Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS). The NRC staff request your response to the RAIs within 30 days of the date of this email. If you do not believe that you can meet the response date, please provide an acceptable alternate date and justification for extending the response date.
If you have any questions, please contact me at (301) 415-7410 or Natreon.Jordan@nrc.gov.
Thanks Much,
-Nate Natreon (Nate) Jordan Nuclear Engineer (Project Manager)
