Response to NuScale Topical Report Audit Question Question Number: A-NonLOCA.LTR-24 Receipt Date: 04/01/2024 Question:

In its response to audit question A-NonLOCA.LTR-7, the applicant indicates that the DHRS scaling analysis is provided in EE-107403. (( 2(a),(c),ECI Please make available for audit (( }} 2(a),(c),ECI for the staff to compare and determine the similarity between the test facility (NIST-2) and NPM-20.

Response

As stated in the response to audit question A-NonLOCA.LTR-7, scaling analysis performed for decay heat removal system (DHRS) testing at the NIST-2 facility is provided in ER-126485, Revision 0, NRELAP5 Applicability to NPM-20 Non-LOCA Analysis. ER-126485 was previously provided in the electronic reading room (eRR) for the non-LOCA topical report. ((

}}2(a),(c),ECI This scaling analysis ((
}}2(a),(c),ECI is summarized in Section 5.3.7.2.2 of the non-LOCA topical report, as described in response to RSI-17 and provided in markups to the non-LOCA topical report in response to RSI-15 (submitted by NuScale letter LO-145424 dated July 14, 2023 and available in ADAMS at ML23195A091).

In audit question A-NonLOCA.LTR-7, the NRC requested additional information to better understand the scaling analysis in ER-126485. ((
