ACCEPTANCE OF FRAMATOME, INC. TRIENNIAL UPDATE TO DECOMMISSIONING FUNDING PLAN (ENTERPRISE PROJECT IDENTIFIER L-2024-DFA-0000)
Dear Timothy Tate:
The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) has completed its review of your submittal dated January 23, 2024 (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System [ADAMS]
Accession No. ML24031A543), as supplemented by letter dated September 6, 2024 (ML24250A201, non-public), transmitting your triennial update to the decommissioning funding plan for the Richland facility. We found your updated cost estimate acceptable. Enclosed please find the NRC staffs safety evaluation report. Enterprise Project Identifier L-2024-DFA-0000 is now closed.
We request that Framatome, Inc. obtain a financial assurance instrument and Certification of Financial Assurance that guarantees funds in the amount of the NRC-approved estimate. The financial instrument should be submitted within 60 days of the date of this letter.
In accordance with Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations Section 2.390, Public inspections, exemptions, requests for withholding, a copy of this letter will be available electronically for public inspection in the NRC Public Document Room (PDR) or from the Publicly Available Records component of the NRCs ADAMS. ADAMS is accessible from the NRC website at http://www.nrc.gov/reading-rm/adams.html. The PDR is open by appointment.
