NuScale Nonproprietary Response to SDAA Audit Question Question Number: A-19.5-12 Receipt Date: 07/17/2023 Question:

Information was removed from SDAA Section 19.5.1 that was necessary for the staff to make a finding that the aircraft impact assessment was reasonably formulated during the DCA review (see RAI 8986, Question 19-19 (ML17271A261) and Section 19.5.4.1 of the staff's final safety evaluation report). The staff requests NuScale to provide information, including SDAA markups, that specifies the AIA was performed by qualified personnel, and how their qualifications satisfy SRP Sections 19.5.III.1 and 19.5.III.2.

Response

In accordance with SRP Sections 19.5.III.1 and 19.5.III.2, the aircraft impact assessments are performed by qualified and experienced personnel in applying the approved methodology in NEI 07-13 Rev 8. Personnel qualification meets NuScale Power, LLC Quality Assurance Program Description, MN-232626, Revision 0. The indoctrination, training, and qualification programs are commensurate with scope, complexity, and importance of the activities.

No changes to the SDAA are necessary.
