The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) is revisiting its previous review of the environmental effects of renewing the operating licenses for Turkey Point Nuclear Generating Unit Nos. 3 and 4 (Turkey Point). The purpose of the attached letter is to re-initiate Section 106 consultation under the National Historic Preservation Act of 1966 (NHPA) with your Tribe. In accordance with 36 CFR 800.8(c), the NRC intends to comply with Section 106 of NHPA through the National Environment Policy Act of 1969 (NEPA) process. The NRCs notice of intent to conduct scoping in regards to the Turkey Point subsequent license renewal application has been published in the Federal Register: 87 FR 61104.
