Dear Jill & Mat:

What follows is my rudimentary geology knowledge of the proposed site of the TRISO fuel fab facility planned by X-Energy in Oak Ridge, TN. One of the most prominent features is the rather large ( ~3 acre) sink hole in the middle of the Area 6. See pictures attached of the lake and ditching/draining process back in 2013 ish. It is also visible in a google earth satellite picture still on the web, from that time. See link below.

You may want to forward to NRC staff reviewing geology characteristic and underground stability. A bldg 10 acre in size and parking lot will substantially change surface water patterns that may alter stability of underground karst structure. Hopefully the links and lat-lon numbers will provide adequate information to identify the locations of the prominent feature ( geology-cultural) within and surrounding the site.

If any of your staff will be coning to do on site inspection I am happy to go with them and show where these points are.

Much of this may already be provided by X-Energy.

---Respectfully, Doug Colclasure -- Oak Ridge, TN https://tnlandforms.us/greenways/gps/googlegw.php?lat=35.97870&lon=-
