& Nonproliferation U.S. Department of State 2201 C Street, NW Washington, D.C. 20520
Dear Dir. Warden:
Enclosed is an application (PXB114.07) dated January 4, 2023, received by the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission from Baker Hughes Oilfield Operations, LLC, requesting to amend active export license PXB114.06. This license currently authorizes the export of Category 2 specified quantities of Am-241/Be, Am-241, Cs-137, Ra-226, and Co-60, for use in wire line operations, and specified quantities of Am-241/Be, Am-241, and Cs-137, for the use in well logging operations and surface monitoring, as authorized, to Iraq.
The purpose of the amendment is to: 1) Extend the expiration date from February 28, 2023, to February 28, 2025; and 2) Update the applicants point of contact to Rabah Benyahia.
As Iraq is an Embargoed Destination (10 CFR 110.28), before acting on this request, we appreciate your views, in accordance with established procedures and from the overall perspective of the Executive Branch, as to whether the requested export meets the applicable criteria in the Atomic Energy Act of 1954, as amended.
Sincerely, X
Andrea R. Jones Andrea R. Jones, Acting Chief Export Controls and Nonproliferation Branch Office of International Programs
