ACCEPTANCE REVIEW OF LOUISIANA ENERGY SERVICES, LLC DECOMMISSIONING FINANCIAL ASSURANCE UPDATE 2022-2024, SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION NEEDED (ENTERPRISE PROJECT IDENTIFICATION NUMBER L-2021-DFA-0006)
Dear Mr. Padgett:
The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff has received the Louisiana Energy Services, LLC doing business as Urenco, USA (UUSA) letter dated June 30, 2021 (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS) under Accession No. ML21189A274),
and supplemented by email dated October 4, 2021 (Accession No. ML21277A284), and letter dated October 11, 2021 (Accession No. ML21288A078 - non-public). The NRC staff performed an acceptance review of your applications to determine if they provide sufficient technical information to allow the NRC staff to complete the detailed technical review.
The purpose of this letter is to advise you, based on the NRC staffs acceptance review, that the application is missing some critical technical information. The information needed to proceed with the formal review is described in Enclosure 1 as Requests for Supplemental Information (RSI).
Upon receipt, please review the RSIs and let the NRC staff know if a follow-up meeting or call would be beneficial to discuss the RSIs or your proposed responses. Please develop a formal response within 30 days of receipt of this letter. Note that the formal review of the decommissioning financial assurance will be placed on hold pending receipt of the necessary supplemental information. An updated review scheduled will be provided once the acceptance letter is issued.
The NRC staff is reviewing this decommissioning financial assurance updated under Enterprise Project Identification NUMBER L-2021-DFA-0006.
The enclosure to this letter contains Official Use Only - Proprietary Information. When separated from the enclosures this letter is DECONTROLLED.
