By letter dated June 28, 2021 (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS) Package Accession No. ML21187A202), Framatome Inc. (Framatome) submitted to the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC), Topical Report (TR) ANP-10340P, Revision 0, Supplement 1, Revision 0, Incorporation of Chromia-Doped Fuel Properties in Framatome
[Pressurized Water Reactor] PWR Methods, for review and approval (Ref. 1). The TR is a supplement to the approved TR (Ref. 2) for the incorporation of chromia-doped fuel in Framatome approved methods, which dealt only with boiling water reactor (BWR) methodologies. This supplement documents the effects of the use of chromia-doped fuel and its implementation in Framatome PWR methodologies.
The NRC staff technical review of this TR is ongoing. The NRC staff will perform a virtual regulatory audit on November 18 and December 7, 2021, and will schedule additional conference calls to discuss the requested audit documents, if needed. The NRC staff determined that this regulatory audit is needed in order to facilitate the review. Enclosed for your information is a copy of the audit plan the NRC staff will follow.
