OF MARCH 16, 2021, PUBLIC MEETING WITH ARMED FORCES RADIOBIOLOGY RESEARCH INSTITUTE REGARDING LICENSE AMENDMENT APPLICATION FOR A DIGITAL INSTRUMENTATION AND CONTROL SYSTEM UPGRADE (EPID NO. L-2020-MFA-0012)
On March 16, 2021, a Category 1 public meeting teleconference was held between the U.S.
Nuclear Regulatory Commission staff and representatives from Armed Forces Radiobiology Research Institute (AFRRI). The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the AFRRI license amendment request, dated November 10, 2020 (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS) Accession No. ML20318A339), as supplemented by letter(s) dated February 5, 2021, and February 11, 2021 (ADAMS Accession Nos. ML21036A297, ML21042B841, respectively), for approval of changes to the license and technical specifications to allow an upgrade of the digital instrumentation and control system. The discussion centered on the scope of the changes requested as a part of the license amendment. Specifically, the AFRRI staff offered to provide a supplement to clarify the scope of the changes and update the Was/Is table.
