Dear NRC,

In 1989-1992 I designed a 3 unit management system for San Onofre/SoCal Edison's SONGS which the NRC called "The most advanced system we had ever seen".

I'm a surfer/tree-hugging engineer and have designed systems with the Army Corps of Engineers Worldwide Construction Management, Navy, Air Force, Fluor, GE, Aramco etc. for utilities, Heads of State and the U.N.

I like self-tending systems which quickly achieve a reliable fail-safe state after a catastrophe. Storing nuclear waste on land anywhere near human habitats, wildlife or aquifers doesn't qualify without processing hazmat so it's inert; an expensive proposition.

Expecting America to solve CO2/CH4 issues with wind/solar is a fools errand with huge mining, manufacturing & downstream costs, but obviously the public will continue resisting nuclear power as long as it remains an eco-disaster, ftom mining&refining, through siting&constructing&operating, through decom&disposal. Can you blame them?

The NRC will always get a black eye and all life on Earth will be at risk of extinction until you/we change to a smarter design including sane siting of generating stations and disposal with zero risk to humans, wildlife, aquifers, soil and air.

IF there was a way all the hazmat could go away, and IF there was a place we could generate power with zero fear of waste, and IF we could make America a zero emission nation in just 2 years, and profit trillions from the process and FOREVER END all the fear & tears, THEN would you, the NRC, take a moment and write to me, because the path you're going down today won't spare a single tree.
