[External_Sender] Please do not approve Holtec permit in New Mexico

Dear Nuclear Regulatory Commission Holtec comments,

..I'm a native of NM. My experience says there is NO good that comes from this. We were snookered into trying this once already with the "WIPP" site project, an existing designated Radioactive Nuclear Waste Area already here. We were PROMISED and ASSURED that by taking the NATIONS radioactive waste our state would receive LOTS OF MONEY for improving our highways, and for funding other Capital Improvements Projects, for which our state was in deep need! We kept our end of the deal, but the Government DID NOT!!!! We got little to no money for our MUCH NEEDED road repairs and roads, nor did we get any money for our bridges, overpasses, and other MUCH NEEDED infrastructure repairs and improvements, as was promised. Instead, the Semi-trucks bringing the radioactive waste from other States to our State tore up our roads even more, and left our already weakened infrastructures even MORE weakened and compromised. ALL WE GOT for our trouble was MORE DESTRUCTION and MORE radioactive waste!!! NO THANKS!

I object to the approval of the Holtec Consolidated Interim Storage site near Carlsbad, NM. It would be safer to reduce transportation of highly radioactive used reactor fuel by leaving it at the site of generation until a permanent repository exists. ?

-- The proposed site is near a highway, presenting a terrorism risk.

--?The plan does not adequately address radiation risk to workers. ?

--?There should be real-time monitoring for leakage.

--?The lack of consideration of Hardened On-Site Storage at the reactor site as an alternative is a glaring problem. ?

--?The lack of an on-site plan to deal with leakage is extremely concerning.

Thank you for your consideration.
