Dear Mr. Murray:

'In accordance with your application dated May 13,1998, and pursuant to Part 70 of Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations, Special Nuclear Material License SNM-1097 is hereby amended to correct errors in Chapter 1.0 of your license. Accordingly Safety Condition S-1 is modified to include the date of May 13,1998.

Safety Condition S-1 is also modified to remove the date of September 25,1997. The September 25 submittal contains supplementary information provided to support a September 19,1997, amendment request, but does not contain license commitments. This date

was incorrectly incorporated into S-1 by Amendment 1 dated September 26,1997.

All other conditions of the license shall remain the same.

Enclosed are copies of the revised Special Nuclear Material License SNM-1097 and the' Safety Evaluation Report, which includes the Categorical Exclusion determination. If you have any questions, please contact Heather Astwood (301-415-5819) of my staff.
