SAFETY EVALUATION REPORT: AMENDMENT REQUEST DATED MAY 13, 1998 (TAC NO. L 31074)
I BACKGROUND & DISCUSSION in an application dated June 11,1997, the licensee renumbered subsections of Section 1.3 of the GE License. These changes were approved by the NRC and incorporated into the license during renewal in June 1997. However, at that time, the licensee failed to update references to these subsections in Chapter 1. Therefore, by letter dated May 13,1998, the licensee requested amendment of Special Nuclear Material License SNM-1097 to correct this oversight.
ENVIRONMENTAL REVIEW These changes are considered administrative in nature. The staff has determined that the proposed changes do not advercely affect public health and safety or the environment and are categorically excluded from the r(quirements to prepare a site-specific environmental assessment. Therefore, in accordance with 10 CFR 51.22(c)(11), neither an environmental assessment nor an environmental impact statement is warranted for this action.
CONCLUSION The NRC staff has reviewed the proposed amendment and has determined that the proposed changes will have no adverse effect on the public health and safety or the environment.
Therefore, the amendment application is approved.
The Region ll inspection staff has no objection to this proposed amendment.
