Catawba Nuclear Station, Units 1 and 2 Docket Nos. 50-413 and 50-414 Priority Listing of Operating License Amendments Attached is an update of our November 3, 1988 listing of proposed Operating License and Technical Specification amendments which should be given a priority status over all other proposed amendments. This priority listing j

contains a brief description of the requested amendment, the submittal date, the date of any followup correspondence, a required issuance date, and the reason for the required issuance date. The amendments are not listed in any particular order and should be pursued based upon the required issuance date. is the listing of amendments that have a significant milestone associated with the required issuance date (e.g. a modification being implemented at a refueling outage). Attachment 2 is the listing of those l

license amendments that are needed to significantly improve the efficiency of plant personnel or significantly clarify the existing Technical Specifications. Attachment 3 is the listing of the remaining amendment requests we have submitted to the NRC for their review and approval. is a listing of license amendments that are Seing developed at Duke Power and will be submitted to the NRC in the near future.

This listing is intended as guidance to be used in allocating resources for the review and issuance of proposed amendments. This list is not intended to preclude the pursuit of other Operating License or Technical Specification amendments which may need to be given a higher priority. This list will be updated periodically, as ne6ded.

Major changes from the last update are as follows:

. The amendment to clarify required snubber inspections was issued in part on September 26, 1988. The remaining requested changes were denied on November 29, 1988. This amendment has been removed from the list.

. The request for approval to use Direct Generation Methods for snubber reduction is now being reviewed by Design Engineering for economic impact as a result of our December 5, 1988 meeting. This item has been removed from the list.

. The amendment to reflect the changes'being made to'the Nuclear Service Water swapover logic was issued on Janauary 10, 1989 and has been removed from the list.

. The amendment request to extend the t.ime to implement the upgrade to' the Safety Parameter Display System (SPDS) wa.; issued on December.28, 1988 and has been removed from the list.

. The amendment to delete the inspection of the number 7-bearing on the-Unit 2B Diesel Generator was issued on Fehtuary 15, 1989 and has been removed from the list.
