BRAIDWOOD SIMULATOR STEADY STATE PERFORMANCE TEST

I.

OBJECTIVES The purpose of this procedure is:

1.

To verify that the simulator's computed values for 100% are stable and will not vary by more than c 2% of the initial values over a 60 minute'perfad.

2.

To vsrify the simulator computed values of critical parameters shall, agree within : 2% of the Braidwood plant's critical parameters'and shall not detract from training as required by ANSI /ANS-3.5 - 1985 " Nuclear Tower Plant Simulators for Use in i

Operator Training".

3.

To verify the simulator computed values of non-critical parameters shall agree within 10% of the Braidwood plant's non-critical parameters and.shall.not detract from train.'.ag as required by ANSI /ANS-3.5 - 1985 " Nuclear Power Plant Simulators for Use in Operator Training".

TEST INSTRUCTIONS

1. -

Initialize at approximately 100% Steady State (75% Steady State, 50%' Steady. State or 30% Steady. State), BOL, Equilibrium Xenon, all systems in automatic control except manual rod control for the 100%'-

test.- Secure blowdown to match the initia's conditions of the station.

2.

~If necessary, perform a calorimetric and adjust PR gains.

3.-

Ensure stable-plant conditions.

~4.

Enter the data collection points.

5.

Type in STARTMON.

6.

Run for a minimum of 3600 seconds with no operator action for the 7~

4 100% test. Run for a minimum of 300 seconds with no operator action for the 30%, 50% and 734 tests.

7.

Type in PRINTMON, then type in STOPMON.

8.

Repeat the test for 75% Steady State, 50% Steady State and 30%

Steady State conditions.

VI.

ACCEPTANCE CRITERIA s__

1.

The simulator computed full power,~ steady state values shall not change (drif t) by more than 22% over a sixty minute period from the original value and shall not detract from training.

2.

The simulator computed steady state initial values shall not deviate from the Braidwood plant's measured values by.more than 1.

2% for critical parameters or i 10% for non-critical parameters and shall not detract from training.

3.

Any deviations from Acceptance Criteria #1 & #2 shall be documented and assigned a Deviation Record number (DR #).

The Byron /Braidwood Operations Simulator Training Supervisor shall determine the disposition of each DR.

VII. DOCUMENTATION Retain the following documentation:

1.

This procedure.

2.

All computer printouts.

3.

All Data Summary Sheets.

4.

Test Cover Sheet.
