Inspection Report Nos. 50-317/89-08 and 50-318/89-08
This letter refers to the safety inspection conducted by
Messrs.
P. K. Eapen and D. T. Moy of this office on April 10-14
at the Calvert Cliffs Nuclear Power Plant in Lusby, Maryland.
The inspectors discussed the results of the inspection with you
and other members of your staff at the conclusion of the
inspection.
This inspection focused on your action's to mitigate the loss of
decay heat removal (DHR) during nonpower operation (as detailed
in Generic Letter No. 88-17) at the Calvert Cliffs Unit 1 and 2
facilities.
Areas examined during this inspection are described in the NRC
Region I inspection report which is enclosed with this letter.
Within these areas, the inspection consisted of selected
examinations of. procedures and representative records, interviews
with plant personnel, and observations by the inspectors.
Within the scope of this inspection, no violations yere observed.
No reply of this letter is required.
