Gentlemen:
SUBJECT:
Response to NRC Generic Letter 88-17 On February 10, 1989, Omaha Public Power District (0 PPD) provided a summary of actions and proposed enhancements in response to the recommendations in Generic Letter 88-17, " Loss of Decay Heat Removal." This letter provides a confirmation that the two modifications listed in reference 6 (1) tygon tubing; and 2) installing a second control room RCS refueling level instrument) will be completed during the 1990 refueling outage.
Planning has been progressing on both modifications.
It has been determined that the engineering can be completed and we believe the materials can be procured on a schedule so that these modifications can be installed during the 1990 refueling outage.
OPPD believes the actions described above and in references 5 and 6 will provide for complete compliance with Generic Letters 87-12 and 88-17.
