GENERIC LETTER 88 RADIATION EMBRITTLEMENT OF REACTOR VESSEL MATERIALS (TACN05.71571and71572)

By letter dated November 28, 1988, Commonwealth Edison (CECO) responded to Generic Letter 88-11. " Radiation Embrittlement of Reactor Vessel Materials" dated July 12, 1988.

In its response, CECO stated that Zion's current Technical Specification Pressure Temperature curves were calculated in accordance with the February 1986 draft version of Regulatory Guide 1.99, Revision 2.

These curves are expected to envelope the May 1988 Revision of i

Regulatory Guide 1.99 requirements until 14 effective full power years (EFPY) i for both units.

We have reviewed your response'and the existing Technical Specifications for Zion Units, and conclude that Ceco has adequately addressed the requirements in Generic Letter 88-11. This ccmpletes our review, and the Tac Numbers 71571 and 71572 are closed effective the date of this letter.
