This refers to the management meeting held with yourself and members of your
staff at the Region V offices on August 17, 1987. Subjects discussed during
the meeting are summarized in the enclosed inspection report.

In the meeting several key points were made relating to communication of
management expectation. Specifically, your programs to ensure appropriate
work conduct are obviously important, but personal management involvement is
essential to assure your staff understands your message. Communicating the
precepts that you laid out in your presentation to assure tha'

conduct those activities which have been appropriately approyu wit 1 adequate

training and facilities is a major challenge. Also, assuring tt ' troblems

are identified and brought to the surface is viewed as another kw point in
your plans. We look forward to monitoring your progress with these management
initiatives.
