3 The licentee has identifled as a nonconformance the questionable conduct of the I nondestructive evaluation (NDE) of approximately 2,1400 velds, performed by oneThe susp contractor NDE technicien.

penetrant examinations of velds made by several site contractors and is based upon the identification by the licensee that procedures were violated by the technician in the conduct of the examinations. The majority of the velds are believed to be I nonsafety related. The licensee investigation is continuing, to include potential i isrpact upon radiography or other NDE performed by this individual who was terminated and ba rred f rom future employment at Seabrook Station. The SRI will monitor the licensee investigation and corrective action and evaluate the final disposition of the nonconformance report documenting the suspect velds.
