Dear Mr. Terry:
On October 7,1997, the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) issued Generic Letter
{
(GL) 97-04, " Assurance of Net Positive Suction Head for Emergency Core Cooling and
- Containment Heat Removal Pumps," to all holders of operating licenses or construction permits.
. available for emergency core cooling (including core spray and decay heat removal) and containment heat removal pumps under all design-basis accident scenarios.
In response to GL 97-04, you provided letters dated January 14 and April 14,1998, for -
Comanche Peak Steam Electric Station (CPSES), Units 1 and 2. In response to a request for additional information dated May 22,1998, you submitted a letter on June 19,1998. These submittals provided the information requested by GL 97-04. The staff has reviewed your response and has concluded that all requested information has been provided; therefore we consider GL 97-04 closed for your facilities (TAC Nos. M99976 AND M99977).

Dear Mr. Terry:
On October 7,1997, the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) issued Generic Letter (GL) 97-04, " Assurance of Net Positive Suction Head for Emergency Core Cooling and Containment Heat Removal Pumps," to all holders of operating licenses or construction permits.
The NRC issued GL 97-04 to confirm the adequacy of the net positive suction head (NPSH) available for emergency core cooling (including core spray and decay heat removal) and containment heat removal pumps under all design basis accident scenarios.
In response to GL 97-04, you provided letters dated January 14 and April 14,1998, for Comanche Peak Steam Electric Station (CPSES), Units 1 and 2. In response to a request for additional information dated May 22,1998, you submitted a letter on June 19,1998. These submittals provided the information requested by GL 97-04.
