SUBJECT: NOTICE OF VIOLATION
(NRC INSPECTION REPORT NOS. 50-325/89-02 AND 50-324/89-02)
'This refers to the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) inspection conducted by
William H. Ruland on ilanuary 1-31, 1989.
The inspection included a review of
activities authorized for your Brunswick facility.
At the conclusion of the
inspection, the findings were discussed viith those members of your staff
identified in the enclosed inspection r6; ort.
Areas exainined during the ir.spection are identified in the report.
Within
these areas, the inspection consisted of selective examinations of procedures
and representative records, interviews with personnel, and observation of
activities in progress.
The inspection findings indicate that certain activities appeared to violate
NRC requirements.
Violation 50-325,324/89-02-01, references to pertinent
requirements, and elements to be included in your response are described in the
enclosed Notice of Violation. A second violation (50-325,324/89-02-02) is also
identified in the enclosed Inspection Report, but is not cited; therefore, no
response to this violation is required
Your attention is invited to the unresolved items identified in the inspection
report. These matters will be pursued during future inspections.
In accordance with Sectica 2.790 of the NRC's " Rules of Practice," Part 2,
Title 10, Code of Federal Regulations, a copy of this letter and its enclosures
will be placed in the NRC Public Document Room.
