Gentlemen:
In response to the referenced request for additional information, Carolina Power & Light Company (CP&L) hereby submits the original and three copies of Revision 4 (amended) to l
the Shearon Harris Nuclear Power Plant (SHNPP) Security Plan. The original revisions I
(Revision 4) are noted by single sidebars and the amended revisions are noted by double sidebars in the right margin of the affected pages.
The requirement to maintain a log indicating name, badge number, time of entry, and time of exit of all individuals granted access to a vital area except than individuals j
I entering or exiting the reactor control room is accomplished by computer memory of access transactions which are routinely transferred tc archive tapes for starage. When printed the transactions contain the date, times, embossed card reader number (not the encrypted number), the individual's social security number, the vital area door involved, and the individual's badge number. When it becomes necessary to prepare a printed log the above-described records of transaction are attached to the authorized access list for the period involved which contains the individual's name, badge number, and other information associated with authorized access.
Carolina Power & Light Company willimplement these changes within 180 days following receipt of approval from the NRC with the exception of the search requirements as addressed in 10CFR73.55(d)(1) which shall be implemented within 60 days following receipt of approval by the NRC. The attached copies of the changes to the SHNPP Security Plan contain information which has been determined to be Safeguards Information and should be protected in accordance with the provisions of 10CFR73.21.
