ISSUANCE OF SAFETY EVALUATION REPORT RELATING TO POST-IRRADIATION FUEL SURVEILLANCE PROGRAM FOR LIMERICK GENERATING STATION, UNIT 1 A safety evaluation. prepared by the Office of Nuclear Reactor Regulation in connection with your letter of September.12,1986 is enclosed.' Your letter informed the' staff that routine visual inspection.of representative fuel will be performed in each refueling outage consistent with the evaluation results in section 4.2.4.3 of the staff's SER by using the General Electric Post-Irradiation Surveillance Program. As indicated in the enclosure..we find this to be acceptable.

Copies of the report will be placed in the Commission's Public Document. Room-j located at 1717 H Street, N.W., Washington, D.C.
