Dear Mr. Grimsley,
Citizen Action for a Safe Environment (CASE) in Williamsburg, Virginiaj requests, under the Freedom of Information Act, that you send us any reports or documents of any kind that the NRC has prepared or received from any
. party, including Virginia Power, on the December 9th accident at the Surry Nuclear Power Plant,
' anis wouid include any information on the thinness of the pipes at the plant or on the welds.
Secondly, we would like any reports concerning the NRC investigation on allegations regarding the falsification of welders' certification papers or on the condition of the welds.
These allegations were made to Bruno Uryc of region 2 of the NRC on July 3, 1985.
We believe the subject number may be R ll-85-A-Oll2 We are a non-profit, public interest organization, and so request that any copying or researching fees be waived.
We would appreciate hearing from you as soon as possible or within 10 business days, as is stated by law.
