NIAGARA M0 HAWK POWER CORPORATION NINE MILE POINT - UNIT 2 DOCKET NO. 50-410/86-00-18 Interim Report for a Problem Concerning Crosby Valve 2 MSS *HYV7A Cracked Roller Bearing Description of the Problem While testing the' Main Steam Isolation Valve Actuators, a cracked Latch Roller Bearing was identified on valve 2 MSS *HYV7A.
The Latch Roller Bearing secures the valve in the open position during normal plant operation.
The Latch Roller Bearing.is required to disengage from the latch upon actuation by trip solenoids to ensure valve closure.
This matter is under investigation and a final report will be submitted by October 20, 1986.
