The architect / engineer (SWEC) and the licensee are allegedly witholding information from the NRC concerning the above design deficiency.

Report of Inquiry -

Five SWEC engineering personnel may not be qualified (licensed).
4 A SWEC engineering supervisor reportedly instructed a sub-ordinate to " doctor" records to conceal a deficiency affecting
" radiation containment systems" at NMP-2.

The alleged design deficiency affecting the.WP-2 diesel generator system may also exist at the River Bend nuclear power plant.

A copy l sworn statement, with attached exhibits was provided to C. J. ANDEREN, Chief, Plant Systems Section, Region I on April 27.
In order to make a preliminary determination as to whether there are design deficiencies in the diesel generators that are reportable to the NRC, a Region I Inspection team will examine the design and operating details for the diesel generators.
If this inspection develops information to indicate design deficiencies exist that 'could be considered reportable, an investigation will be initiated into the alleger's assertion that such e
information is being withheld.
