On March 31 - April
3,
1987, an announced special safety inspection was
conducted by regional inspectors S. Sherbini and J. McFadden at the Oyster
Creek Nuclear Generating Station.
The purpose of this inspection was to
review the status of inspector follow-up items that were opened in connection
with Inspection Report 86-01.
These items refer to the implementation of
certain specifications of NUREG-0737, Clarification of TMI Action Plan
Requirements.
Based on the findings of this inspection, approximately one-half of the open
issues were closed.
Several technical issues remain to be resolved, however,
before the Stack and Turbine Building effluent monitoring systems, RAGEMS I
and RAGEMS II, can be considered fully operational.
Some of these issues
require additional technical evaluations by your staff.
Within the scope of this inspection, no violations were identified.
