SUBJECT:

DISTRIBUTION OF THE NRC REGUI.ATORY AGENDA i received your note regarding distribution of the NRC Regulatory Agenda but did not l

get an opportunity to discuss it with you prior to your leaving the office Thursday for North Dakota. The Semiannual Report, July - December 1998 (published in February 1999). We did commit to Cheryl Rogers, NE at the October 1998 All Agreement States meeting that NRC would provide Agreement States with a copy of this document so that States would have a better idea of what NRC rulemakings would be coming down the pipeline, so to speak.

Although Steve Salomon is the contact for this action item, I took the initiative and l

. contacted Betty Golden, who is the contact for distribution of the Regulatory Agenda.

Betty committed to include the Agreement States CY list with the B7 list to receive future mailings of the Regulatory Agenda. Because the Regulatory Agenda was recently distributed, I was able' to obtain enough extra copies for Agreement State distribution. Kathaleen suggested OSP could easily print out labels and conduct ar&__

in-house mailing. Unfortunately, Betty informed me that the Regulatory Agenda is not available on the external NRC web site and that there are no plans at this time to make it available electronically.

If you agree, we can proceed to do a mass mailing of the Regulatory Agenda to the Agreement States. We could also send in concert an electronic

  • heads up" to the Agreement States; or, if you prefer, we can draft a short Agreemen,t State letter. Please dog g 4%

tg advise.
