WAY261898 ALL AGREEMFNT STATES MINNESOTA, OHIO, OKLAHOMA, PENNSYLVANIA, WISCONSIN PROGRAM INFORMATION: NRC REGULATORY AGENDA SEMIANNUAL REPORT JULY - DECEMBER 1998, NUREG-0936, VOL 17, NO. 2 (SP-99-035)

We are providing you with a copy of the subject report in response to a request from Cheryl Rogers, Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services Systems, which was raised during the October 1998 All Agreement States Meeting. Ms. Rogers asked if NRC could provide the States with a document that would help anticipate and track the status of NRC rulemakings so that State resources could be assigned, accordingly.

The Regulatory Agenda is a semiannual compilation of all rules on which the NRC has recently completed action, or has proposed action, or is considering action, and of all petitions for rulemaking that the NRC has received that are pending disposition. We have placed you on NRC's automatic distribution list to receive future updates of NUREG-0936. Through the Technical Conference Forum, Agreement States will also continue to receive for review and comment pre-decisional programmatic documents, such as drafts of rulemaking plans, proposed and final rules, and licensing and inspection guides (see SP-99-019).

I have reviewed the draft letter and have one comment.

The 2" sentence in 2* paragraph states that the Regulatory Agenda is published in the FR. I 1

believe we publish the Unified Agenda in the FR, not the Regulatory Agenda. I have confirmed this with Lou Riani and David Meyer of ADM.

I recommend we concur subject to the changes as marked on a copy of the conc sheet.
