Kubicki, NRR PEISCB, and Mr. A. Krasopoulos, NRC Region I, regarding Appendix R to 10CFR 50 for TMI-1; GPU Nuclear hereby submits the attached responses (Attachment I) to NRC requests for additional information as presented at the subject meeting.
It is our understanding that this information is required to complete NRC's review of the TMI-l Appendix R exemption requests.
Also provided (Attachment II) is a confirmation summary of the clarifications discussed at the subject meeting.

GPUN will submit the alternate shutdown revised system description (referenced in the licensee's letter of November 7,1985) along with all current revisions to the Fire Hazards Analysis Report and Safe Shutdown Evaluation.

Response
TMI-1 System Design Description (SDD) No. 614, Revision 4, entitled
" Remote Shutdown System," is attached for your review. All modifications to the TMI-l fire protection program described in this submittal will be incorporated into Revision 8 of the Fire Hazards Analysis Report and Safe Shutdown Evaluation. This revision to the TMI-l Fire Hazards Analysis Report and Safe Shutdown Evaluation will also include all other changes that have occurred since the submittal of Revision 7 on November 7,1985.
