INITIAL STARTUP TEST MANUAL ISU-008A THERMAL EXPANSION REVISION NO. 1 PAGE 4 0F 132 1.0 Test Objectives 1.1 The purpose of this procedure is to verify that the ASME Code Class 1,2, and 3 systems and other non-safety class systems which operate at temperatures greater than 200*F are not restrained during heatup to operating temperatura or during cooldown to ambient conditions.

This procedure will include verification that loads and clearance gaps of selected piping sy' stem snubbers, spring hangers and pipe rupture restraints are properly set for free pipe movement.

Components checked shall consist of items requiring retest after i preoperational test 1-CP-PT-55-11 and items which were not covered l by that test. Measurements will be taken at an initial ambient '

temperature, plateaus, of 250'F, 350*F, and 450'F, and at normal operating temperature. Main Feedvater and certain Main Steam ,

j systems outside the reactor building will also be monitored at 30%

power level. A final set of readings will be taken after ecoldown to ambient temperature. '
