CATEGORICAL EXCLUSION FOR LICENSE AMENDMENT DATED FEBRUARY 4, 1985 By letter dated February 4,1985, Seattle University notified the NRC that Dr. Frank A. Valente passed away on January 27, 1985.
Dr. Valente had been the Radiation Safety Officer and is specified by name in Condition 11 of Materials License No. SNM-589; therefore, it is necessary to replace Dr. Valente in the conditions section of the license.
It is the staff's opinion that the position of Radiation Safety Officer should replace Dr. Valente in Condition 11 rather than a designated individual. The staff also concluded an additional license condition should define the qualifications of the Radiation Safety Officer. The addition of Condition 15 to the license will define the minimal qualifications of Seattle University's Radiation Safety Officer. With the revision of Condition 11, addition cf Condition 15, and all existing license conditions for the protection of people and environs remaining in place, the staff concludes that no additional environmental impact will result.
Therefore, in accordance with 10 CFR 51.22(c)(14)(v), an Environmental Assessment or an Environmental Impact Statement is not warranted for this proposed action.
