Subject- Inspection No. 50-219/86-13
A routine, unannounced inspection was conducted April 21-25, 1986 of the
Oyster Creek Plant refueling outage health physics program. Areas reviewed
included organization of the health physics program during the outage,
external exposure control, internal exposure control, contamination control,
ALARA, and some aspects of training as it relates to outage work.
The inspection findings indicate that the radiological controls program at
Oyster Creek is a well run program. There appears to be a dedication on the
part of the program's management to ensure control of exposure and
contamination. However, the inspection identified scme weaknesses in the
program, mainly in the areas of air sampling and ALARA. The details of the
findings are presented in the inspection report.
