Inspection Report No. 50-219/86-40

This letter refers to the inspection conducted by Mr. R. A. McBrearty of this

office on December 9-16, 1986 at the Oyster Creek Generating Station and at the

GPU Laboratory in Reading, Pennsylvania. Mr. McBrearty discussed the findings

of the inspection with Mr. P. B. Fiedler on December 11, 1986 and with

Mr. W. Jeitner on December 16, 1986.

Areas examined during this inspection are described in the NRC Region I Inspec-

tion Report which is enclosed with this letter. Within these areas, the

inspection consisted of selective examinations of procedures and representative

records, interviews with personnel, and observations by the inspector.

Within the scope of this inspection, no violations were observed.
